Hello, beautiful people!
My last beauty post got so much traffic so I decided to do another! I used my beautiful friend, Kaila as a model because she recently died her hair Auburn. I also have done this exact same look on my self and it looks great with all kinds of dark hair! First you will see her day look and then we will transition it and make it a going out/night look. Enjoy!
This was also kind of a lesson, so I showed her highlighting and contouring since she had some questions about it. Highlighting is basically bringing light (or a lighter shade of foundation) to the parts of your face that you want to come forward, this would be the center of the face. Contouring is bringing darkness (matte bronzer or darker shade of foundation) to the parts of your face that you want to recede, aka look skinnier! These parts would be the side of your nose, underneath your cheekbones, around the edges of your chin, and around your forward. Here is our little highlighted and contoured beauty!
You’ll see that I was not precise about this, you don’t need to be! Just place the dark & light foundations where you want them to come forward or recede and blend in a with a dense face brush! I used the Graftobian HD palette because it has so many colors and I used the RC Cosmetics brushes to blend in.
GOSH, is she not the most beautiful person EVER? I can’t even.
Face – Graftobian HD Foundation Palette in Warm #2
Concealer – Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Fair
Powder – NYX Set it, Don’t Fret it in 01
Bronzer – MAC “Give Me Sun” & Benefit “Hoola”
**Budget friendly alternative – NYC “Sunny”
Eyebrows – Espresso by MAC *Note: for a daytime look, only focus the color on the outer tail/arch
**Budget friendly alternative – Elf Eyebrow Kit
Eyes – MAC Soft Brown in the crease as a blending color (this means use this baby like crazy, all over that crease!), then focus MAC texture & brown script in the lower crease/ outer V area and be very controlled with it. But blend like crazy! I also used the same brush to place NYX copper on the lid!
**Budget friendly alternative – Maybelline Quad
**Brushes: these two are the only ones you need for this eye look! Use this big fluffy one first and then this one to deepen up the crease and blend some more. Can you tell I like blending?
Eyeliner – Maybelline Gel Liner in Blackest Black – then I took a pencil brush and Embark by MAC (or any dark brown) to blend out the eye shadow so it’s not harsh **LADIES: this is the best way to do eyeliner, ever. So do it.
Mascara – Benefit They’re Real & Loreal Voluminous
Cheeks – Luminoso by Milani
Highlighter – The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer
Lips – Kardashian Beauty joysticks in Au Natural & Babydoll Pink
And here’s our night look!
So obviously the face makeup stayed the same.
I did deepen up her contour color but with the same powders as above!
Eyebrows – Espresso by MAC again but I took it all the way into to the beginning of the brow and just added some more color to make them bolder! Don’t forget to set those babies, especially if you’re going out! HERE is a great brow setting gel!
Eyes – To deepen up the crease I used Swiss Chocolate & Embark by MAC. Just really work those into the crease and outer V until you have reached the look that you want. I went over the eyeliner again just to make it a little more dramatic. Same process as before though!
Cheeks – I covered her cheeks in Peaches by MAC because I wanted to cover up some of the shimmer. Since the lips are so dramatic, you want a lesser cheek color. Peaches is obviously a peach-toned blush, perfect for fall!
**Budget friendly alternative: NYX Cinnamon – it seems scary but I promise it works!!
Lips (aka the BEST part) – Burgundy lip pencil by MAC and then Diva by Mac!
**tip: fill in the ENTIRE lip with your lip pencil, it will make the lipstick last longer and look better!
**Budget friendly alternative: Jordana lipliner in Cabernet and Wet n Wild’s lipstick in Cherry Bomb
Here she is from beginning to end! Once again, let’s all take in how beautiful she is.
This makeup will be beautiful on ANYONE! Feel free to experiment with your own stuff and let me know how it goes!
Have a beautiful day,
